It's so good to have some Test cricket to feast on again.
England are warming up for the Aussies in a few months and did so with a pretty impressive performance in the First Test. The second test is now underway.
if memory serves, they "warmed up" against Bangladesh, four years ago (2005) and that panned out pretty well for them. Flogging the West Indies just before Australia arrive could be just the tonic they need to reverse their questionable form since that memorable series and set up for a repeat performance.
The stage is set. Australia are a very different side to 2005 but believe just as strongly that they will retain the Ashes. Will they? I think so, but so much will depend on some form reversal. Hussey making some runs. Ponting continuing to do so. Hughes going from a flash in the pan to a burning star, and someone to take some wickets! Lee? Siddle? Who? Maybe McGain?
Can't wait for those long winter nights. Let's hope England weather holds out!
